Sina: How do you know?
Shiva: I just know.
Sina: Is it on Wikipedia?
Shiva: I dunno — it doesn’t matter.
Sina: If it’s not on Wikipedia, it’s not true.
Shiva: Is that on Wikipedia?
Sina: That would be a self-reference and would thus be insignificant.
[pause]
Shiva: That’s what she said.
Sina: I know dude, I was there.
Cyber Vandal April 20, 2009
Posted by Sina in : Main , add a commentI wrote this in my drafts a few months ago with the above title to eventually be posted. Why not now, I suppose.
The “…..” was a generic statement that was meant to be filled later, since I couldn’t think of anything at the time of writing. I don’t think I’ll fill it though.
Jess: Did you write in Wikipedia that “…..”
Sina: *shocked* I would never vandalize Wikipedia. Ever. You know that.
Jess: Well it says “…..”. You’re the only person that knows that.
Sina: Maybe someone read your diary.
Jess: I don’t have a diary.
Sina: Maybe someone hacked your Facebook.
UPDATE (28 April 2010): Just fyi, this represents a typical conversation between me and Jessica.
Wikipedia Knows Everything March 19, 2009
Posted by Sina in : Main , add a commentPeople at work seem to be amazed at how quickly I find information. I find it amazing how amazing they find this. Really.
Here are three general rules to remember:
- Wikipedia knows everything. No exceptions.
- Google is your friend. All smart people use Google.
- Find/Replace will save you time reading/writing. Use it.
Remember that and all the old people you know will think you know everything.
Conservapedia might be Wikipedia's evil step-brother March 7, 2009
Posted by Sina in : Main , add a commentConservapedia informs us that “Obama is likely the first Muslim President” of the United States. They argue this because “Obama’s background, education, and outlook are Muslim, and fewer than 1% of Muslims convert to Christianity.”
But that all doesn’t matter anyway. Why? Because Obama isn’t the President of the United States. This follows from the fact that fewer than 0.0000001% of Americans have ever been the country’s President.
